Terms of Service

By accessing or using the AppDroid platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

AppDroid is a container security scanning platform that analyzes container images for security vulnerabilities. The Service includes the AppDroid web portal at appdroid.dev, the AppDroid command-line interface (CLI), and associated APIs. We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the Service at any time.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including any API keys you generate. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Scan container images that you do not own or have authorization to scan
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security measures
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use the Service to develop a competing product or service

Our Property. The Service, including all software, designs, and documentation, is owned by AppDroid and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or logos.

Your Data. You retain all rights to your container images and data. By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the scanning service to you. This license terminates when you delete your data or close your account.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period. We may change our pricing with at least 30 days notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT SCAN RESULTS ARE COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR ERROR-FREE. THE SERVICE IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL SECURITY ASSESSMENT. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT NO AUTOMATED SCANNING TOOL CAN DETECT ALL VULNERABILITIES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APPDROID SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AppDroid and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in activity that poses a security risk to the Service or other users, or as required by law. We may also terminate your account for convenience with 30 days notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and AppDroid regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
